On Monday afternoon a giant package arrived on our doorstep. In addition to the 4 trashbags worth of packing peanuts we found inside (the cats had a heyday with that!), there was also a crib inside! Jan & Jim were awesome enough to send us the crib that both Joshua & Jonah used as babies. We spent a bit of time setting things up, made a quick run to the hardware store, and finally got the whole thing assembled and together. It looks pretty awesome in our nursery and, though you can't tell from the pic, exactly matches the dresser in that room that Mike used as a child.
In other news, I seem to have caught the plague in Dallas. I always get a nasty cold in the winter, but I didn't know how much I relied on things like decongestants & cough suppressants until now. Most of that stuff hasn't been through human pregnancy trails, so they'll either tell you not to take them or to "use sparingly," whatever that means. I've spent quite a bit of time in bed trying to recover (missing a lot of time in the lab in the process) so hopefully it will pay off. Mike's starting to show some signs of the plague as well - crossing my fingers that he can fight it off!
Happy birthday to Sara!
