Animals love rain and sun...

Bubbie and Papa came to visit last weekend and Gabe had a great time showing off all of his new skills. We did some shopping, played lots of games, and stayed up late Saturday night chatting. Gabe enjoyed driving the laundry basket, chasing the "doggy" (his word for dogs and cats), playing with the phone (he likes to call Grandma but he especially likes to push the buttons - big surprise!), eating hummus, swinging, and going on walks. We've always tried to get him out in the stroller a few nights a week, but he has started to request it - by climbing into the stroller on his own and then rocking back and forth in an attempt to make it move. We can't help but to indulge him when he does that - even yesterday when it was raining a bit.

After recently learning that Gabe is definitely allergic to milk, we've started offering him some soy alternatives. He's still not sure what he thinks about soy milk, but he definitely likes the yogurt. Unfortunately my homemade soy alternative to mac n cheese did not go over so well :( We'll just have to stick to plain noodles for now. He's also started to try to feed himself (typically with the wrong end of the spoon, but still managing to get some of the food into his mouth) with utensils and though he'll take a sippy cup, he prefers the real deal (and is getting pretty good at not spilling it everywhere, though we do have our moments).

We are spending this week regrouping and waiting for Bubbie and Papa to return from visiting Jason et. al. in SC for another weekend of fun at our house :)
