Not that it's a bad thing. Last weekend was great. Diane and Sam were here for a visit and for the baby shower Danny and Sarah threw for us. It was a co-ed shower where each couple (or pair) of people competed for prizes in two games - a drinking and an eating game.
The drinking game involved drinking 9 oz. of the carbonated beverage of your choice out of a baby bottle and the eating game involved being blindfolded and fed baby food. I participated in the drinking game and as I'm not drinking while Erin can't drink, I had red Fanta in my bottle - not a wise choice. In the end Evan, who was drinking a porter of some sort, won by almost an ounce.
I could not participate in the eating game because as the father to be, I had to practice my feeding skills. So among others, Erin got to try 7 different baby foods including bananas, peas, carrots, chicken, mac and cheese, beef and pears. Dan won this game identifying 4 of 7. In a surprise turn of events, mac and cheese seemed to be the most revolting.
Aside from the shower, we spent the weekend playing canasta, carcassonne and mexican train.
This weekend, we're spending 5 hours a day in baby training, learning how the whole process shakes down. Today I learned that I am to slow dance with Erin during labor. You can't find that in just any book.
Let me leave you with one more gem of wisdom. This morning, Erin compared Zoe's tail to a "clock tick-tocker." It took her some time to come up with the word pendulum.

I would like to add that while mac and cheese seemed to be the crowd (least) favorite, none of the offerings looked the least bit appetizing. The last one still makes me shudder when I think about it.
