Freezing in Indiana

I'm always prepared for colder weather during our Christmas trips back home. It usually snows at least once and we expect temps near the freezing mark for most of the time. Yesterday, however, caught me off guard. We'd waited until the last minute to pack, so I didn't really put much thought into what went into the suitcase. In fact, I grabbed every maternity shirt I had and called it quits. Most of them are 3/4 sleeves - I thought that would be sufficient.

When we landed in Indy, the pilot announced that the temp outside was 10F. Yes, 10 - with a wind chill of -15 and lows that night that would be "ridiculously cold." To add insult to injury, our bags didn't make the short connection in Charlotte, so we had to go home without them. It wasn't a huge problem (they arrived later in the evening) except that packed away in them were our coats, hats, and gloves. What a way to welcome me home, Indiana!
