I love our mailbox

All sorts of interesting things have been showing up in it. Granted, most of them are for Gabe, but the funny thing about impending parenthood is that suddenly the only things I want are things that are for him or for us to take care of him with. My desire to buy movies and video games has been replaced with that to buy diapers and onesies. Anyway, we wanted to share some of the recent additions.

Two weekends ago, Sam & Diane bought us an early baby shower gift that we really enjoy sitting in. Of course, our cats think that the nursery is just for them, and this is how Mike found it after I accidentally left the door open for about 20 minutes.



Last week, we got a box in the mail from Jan, Jim, Joshua, and Jonah. In addition to a bouncer and some baby odds and ends, there were overalls! As I hung them up, I realized that Gabe is already building quite the collection:



Today when I walked in the door there was a box on the kitchen table. Emily made us a couple of awesome gifts (below): a flannel taggy blanket for Gabe and a changing pad for all of his outings. I'd never heard of the former until last weekend but after seeing it, I know it's going to be one of the items that we can't pry out of his hands long enough to wash.
